Who doesn’t want to be a superhero or create one? During this creative program students use a combination process of traditional and digital illustration techniques to develop a superhero character. Teaching artist Augusto Bordelois demonstrates the process using Adobe Illustrator software and basic story elements and character development traits as well as facial expressions and body language are discussed. Then, students start sketching, researching and developing the main traits of their characters using pencils, selfies or downloaded images. After the research images and sketches are scanned and placed in Adobe Illustrator the characters/frames development really starts. Finally, selected students present their original drawings to the class.
This program requires access to Adobe Illustrator software or any other vector illustration software and internet connection.
