Fast Facts: SUMMER ARTWORKS 2017

Time Commitment: Five days per week (9:30 AM – 3:30 PM with some later evenings and Saturdays required.)

Time Frame: June 19, 2017 – July 25, 2017

Location(s): Tri-C Metro Campus & Cleveland Public Library  – Downtown Branch

Transportation: Participants are responsible for their own transportation to and from the program.

Pay: Apprentices will receive a stipend of $1,000 for their participation in the program.

Apprentice Positions: Spaces for this opportunity are limited. Only 100 apprentice positions are available, so students who are interested in applying are strongly encouraged to make sure all parts of their application are complete and received on time.

In addition to enrolling students apprentices, the Center for Arts-Inspired Learning hires college juniors and seniors as Site Coordinators, and Master Teaching Artists.

Student Apprentice Applications

Anyone entering 10th, 11th, or 12th grade in the Fall of 2017 may apply to be an ArtWorks Summer Apprentice. No prior arts experience is necessary, but applicants should have a strong interest in the arts and a willingness to learn new skills in a multicultural setting. Students must submit an application and be interviewed to be considered for the program. All Apprentice application materials must be received no later than 4:00PM, Friday, April 7, 2017, and students must be available for an interview during the week of May 8th. To Apply for an Apprentice Position:

  • Complete the online application or paper application.
  • Submit a signed parent/guardian Consent Form.
  • Submit a letter of recommendation from a teacher, guidance counselor or principal directly to artworks@arts-inspiredlearning.org

Site Coordinator Applications

Any college junior or senior, or recent graduates may apply to be an ArtWorks Summer site coordinator. The site coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of an ArtWorks Summer site. This position requires strong professional communication and event management skills. Applicants must submit a cover letter and resume to be considered for the position. Finalists will be interviewed. All Site Coordinator application materials must be received at Center for Arts-Inspired Learning, 13110 Shaker Square, Suite C203, Cleveland, OH 44120, no later than 4:00PM, Friday, March 10, 2017. Professional Teaching Artists Applications

Any professional teaching artist may apply to be an ArtWorks Summer master teaching artist (MTA). MTAs will guide a group of approximately 10 high school-aged apprentices in the development of 21st Century workforce skills through projects in a focused arts discipline. Occasionally, MTAs may receive assistance from a college-aged Assistant Teaching Artist. Applicants must complete and submit a Request for Proposal (RFP) to be considered for the position. An interview, written project proposal and professional references will be required for finalists. All Master Teaching Artist application materials must be received at Center for Arts-Inspired Learning, 13110 Shaker Square, Suite C203, Cleveland, OH 44120, no later than 4:00PM, Friday, March 10, 2017 .
