Stretch and Grow Stories for Imaginative Minds - Grades K-5

$0.00

For the very young who are either not yet reading, or are in the introductory stage, the "Stretch and Grow Stories for Imaginative Minds" program is presented with a combination of interactive songs, stories, and body movements. The reading of picture books is also included as a way to connect to the visual aspect of learning through pictures/images, and to relate to a young child's more familiar way of focusing on a story. Careful effort is made to ensure stories and supporting activities are age-appropriate and engaging.

For older children, the same care of presenting stories and activities that are age-appropriate is applied. Added activities include a group re-telling of the story presented the by the Storyteller, or a group creation of a story developed by the participants. A writing exercise is also included as a way to extend learning and further support literacy skills.

No matter the age group, the goal of this program is to present stories that have a meaningful message.

This program aligns with the following ODE Curriculum Standards:

Drama/Theater

3.1PE Use voice, movement, space, and physical objects to communicate a storyline and a character's thoughts, feelings, and ideas.

SEL: Self-Management

B2. 4a - Discuss obstacles that can get in the way of reaching a goal and ideas for handling those obstacles.
