Geometry, Social Studies & Literacy Through A Coat Of Arms

$0.00

In Medieval times many people did not know how to read or write, so information was communicated visually. Thus a symbol was created to identify people such as Knights in armor. A Coat of Arms was invented to visually tell who the knight was and where he came from. In this residency, students will design a Coat of Arms based on their family, class, school or community traditions, motto, location and activities, etc. To explain their design choices of symbols, colors, shape, patterns, motto and reflect on the process, students will write an artist statement.
