Step Team
Rooted in deep tradition from the HBCU culture that stems all the way back from Africa. Students will explore specific techniques, vocabulary, creative processes, dynamics, and musicality of Stepping or body percussion technique. This Includes experiencing a variety of movement styles and techniques. Warm-up exercises such as body toning and stretching. Students will learn diagonal and center step combinations leading to choreography.
Grades 3-12, 4-week,8-week or 12 week residency
M/W/F 45 min session during school time
(M/W/F 45-60 min session out of school time
Studio recital & culminating performance(s)/
max 12-15 students
