Seuss And Song
Performance:
Did you know that in addition to writing children’s books, Dr. Seuss also wrote songs? Lara introduces selected songs from the Dr. Seuss Songbook. Students discover the ways Dr. Seuss explored words, numbers, emotions, and onomatopoeia or “word painting” in his books and songs. They’ll even get to hear excerpts from one of Dr. Seuss’s most famous works come to life through song. Volunteers from the audience are invited on stage to join Lara in the performance.
Performance Price: $339
Workshop:
Based on her popular Seuss in Song Show, Ms. Troyer will lead this workshop using many of the same songs, written with the zany lyrics of Dr. Seuss. Participants will be involved with a variety of hands-on activities – a percussion ensemble to accompany the rest of the group singing a 3-part song; games and exercises using our “expressive voice;” songs about math and onomatopoeia (Can you say that word AND do you know what it means?). Participants will have the opportunity to create their own thunderstorm soundscape using only their hands and feet.
