Solar energy and water on Earth:   An Arts-Integrated Residency

This theme focuses on helping participants develop the skills for systematic discovery to understand the science of the natural world around them. Energy is observed through movement, heating, cooling, and the needs of living organisms. The sun is the principal source of energy. Water on Earth is present in many forms and the  properties of objects and materials can change. Participants will explore this theme using whole- body awareness of dance, the art of movement. They will learn a routine of movement exercises that builds each session to develop movement fundamentals.  They will integrate academic concepts with movement investigations and expressions to create a final dance.
