Dancing Through the Curriculum
Appreciate the power of movement to enliven learning in personal, interpersonal, and curricular areas
This is a fun and engaging workshop for educators that engages participants with examples of integrating either language arts or Geometry with and through movement. This professional development will offer movement solutions to key descriptive words from grade level reading material to interpret the words and create meaning and action. Participants will then work in small groups and use the elements of dance; Body, Energy, Space, and Time to develop our movements into a “dance”, accompanied by music.
Educators will leave this PD with ways to explore and teach movement to their students with activities that integrate learning in several curricular areas. These movement activities provide students an opportunity to process and retain information using multiple-intelligences and social and learning skills.
